Meizhou Island, off the coast of the Chinese province Fujian, is a beautiful island known for being the birthplace of the goddess Mazu. It has become a place of pilgrimage for those of the Mazu belief.
This short documentary delves into the Mazu belief and takes a look around some of the temples on the island. In addition to the Mazu followers, the natural environment of Meizhou makes the island a popular tourist destination.
