Описание: Luke 21:20 to 23 tells us that the great tribulation was when the Roman armies besieged Jerusalem and destroyed the temple and that was the “days of vengeance” and Day of the Lord. It’s also when Babylon, the harlot city of Revelation was destroyed – see Revelation 19:2, “He has avenged on her (Babylon) the blood of His servants shed by her.” This was of course the time period of 66 1/2AD to 70AD. And means Law covenant Jerusalem and Israel which was non-believing Jews and Judaizers who persecuted the early church and saints and they had to be stopped and destroyed.
We can also see that Babylon is Law covenant Jerusalem by Revelation 11:8, “And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually (symbolically) is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.” Jesus wasn’t crucified in Rome or Russia or the United States but only in Jerusalem.
Paul says in Hebrews 13:14, “For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.” The city which he was talking about and would not continue was the Jerusalem which existed in Pauls time and was Law covenant Jerusalem. The city he says would come is the New Jerusalem and that came down in 70AD and the old Jerusalem and Law covenant was ended when the Roman armies besieged Jerusalem and destroyed the temple.
Daniel 9:24 says, "Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city." Notice it says "your holy city", Jerusalem was destroyed in 70AD and therefore the fulfillment of prophecy. Also see verse 26, "shall destroy the city and the sanctuary (temple) the end of it shall be with a flood." The end of it was like a flood when the Roman armies came in and destroyed Jerusalem. That happened in 70AD and was the "2nd presence of Jesus!" Also see the 12th chapter of Daniel which is about the "time of the end", the end of the law covenant age and law covenant, not the "end of time" as some people think. That world (or age) came to an end in 70AD.
