Two places, same name — but very different vibes. I went to Kuta Lombok, in the Mandalika area, and compared it with the famous Kuta Bali. Kuta Bali is known for its beaches, nightlife, surfing, and crowds. Meanwhile, Kuta Lombok is still more raw, quiet, and surrounded by hidden beaches like Tanjung Aan and Selong Belanak.
In this video, I checked the vibe in both places — Mandalika’s new developments, the MotoGP circuit, local cafés and warungs in Lombok — versus Bali’s busy streets, beach clubs, Crate Café, Batu Bolong, and the infamous shortcut in Canggu. The big question: has Bali lost its magic with overtourism, or is it just evolving while Lombok keeps its authentic charm?
