Our version of the Texas Star block uses three fabrics:
• Light (white)
• Medium (red)
• Dark (navy)

🧵 Fabric Requirements for this Block (12½" x 12½", finishes at 12" square):
• 1 light square – 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"
4 light squares - 3" x 3"
8 light squares - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
• 8 medium squares – 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
• 8 dark rectangles – 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"
4 dark rectangles - 2" x 3"
4 dark rectangles - 2" x 4 1/2"

🧳 A Note About Texas

For many years we traveled to Houston for the International Quilt Market and International Quilt Festival each fall. We were usually there for about 2 weeks at a time and got to enjoy many of the fun places to eat in the Houston area. At one point I figured I could say I lived in Texas for about one year of my life, it just wasn't consecutive time! We didn't get to do much sightseeing because we were working long hours but we still managed to have fun and met so many amazing people! We did take some side trips to Galveston, Austin, San Antonio, and New Braunfels. There is so much to do in Texas, it's certainly hard to do it all and we definitely enjoyed every experience except the time I ended up in the hospital...but that's another story! Texas, we will see you again!

📅 About the “Celebrate the States” Series

• All blocks are rotary cut and video-only tutorials
• The quilt will include 56 blocks, set 7 across by 8 down
• Finished size (with 1" sashing): 92" x 105"
• Optional border sizes:
– +3" border = 98" x 111"
– +6" border = 104" x 117"
– No border = 84" x 96"

🧵 Want a smaller quilt? Do a double-sided version! Use 25 blocks on the front and 25 on the back. With 1" sashing and a 3" border, it’ll measure about 72" x 72".
