At Ritidian or Litekyan in northern Guam, the Star Cave is known for its abundant and diverse rock art, associated with ancient archaeological layers of what people did here over a long period of time, beginning at least 3500 years ago, ever since the first time when people began to live in the remote-distance islands of Pacific Oceania.
The rock art elements and the archaeological layers have shown considerable change through time, linked with the long-term chronology of the natural and cultural history of the region.
