Many people long for a love like Jamie and Claire's. It is sincere, deep and unconditional, passionate and tender, it overcomes every obstacle, even time and space. It's rare to find something like that and anyone who has experienced such love can count themselves lucky and will always carry it within them, because it has fulfilled and enriched their life.
Jamie & Claire also enrich each other, they inspire each other. Through and for their love for each other, they grow beyond themselves, learn and develop. Love sometimes also means compromise and the willingness to put one's own needs aside without losing oneself. Showing the other person his weaknesses, but still accepting and loving him and giving him the freedom to be who he is. Inspiring each other, supporting each other, disagreeing, arguing and yet finding agreement.
Jamie & Claire embody all of that and more. They are made for each other, meant for each other. No matter where they are, what they do, whether there are 200 years between them or just everyday life, their thoughts are always with the other person and long for their love and closeness. They are each other's purpose and elixir of life, cannot and don’t want to be without each other and only feel complete when they are together. That's exactly what the song is about.
