Britain's Prime Minister has shocked the country by calling for a snap general election in just under two months' time.
Theresa May had repeatedly said she did not want another vote before 2020.
But she has now changed her mind, insisting that the election is essential to strengthen the country's position for negotiations on leaving the European Union.
