Khmer New Year is celebrated over three days based on the lunar calendar and coincides with the end of the harvesting season, starting April 14. In Khmer, it is called Chaul Chnam Thmey, which means 'enter the new year'. It is a time for Cambodian people to gather with family, friends and their community. The three days of the New Year are Maha Sangkran, Vireak Vanabat, and T'ngai Loeng Sak. Hear from Maliss Som, Medical Interpreter, to learn what this important holiday means to her.
