I've had a JX-03 for many years, but I was always annoyed by the 4-voice polyphony limit, making it really hard to play polysynths, fat brasses, pads or strings without the infamous note-stealing effect. I still liked the sound of this little synth. A few months ago there was another JX-03 on the market, so I went for it. I wanted to see how the double JX-03 feels with 8-voice polyphony and how well the built in polychain function works, since there has been some debate on if it is useful or not, or if you would need some external device handling proper round-robin polychaining. And it seems to work nicely in both ways. Very 80's sounding and having access to the (very small) controls on the surface is nice, too. I've never played a JX-3P, but this digital recreation with 8 voice really sounds great and feels nice to play. Two oscillators give you more options compared to the Juno series and the filter and sound is harder compared to the Junos. What do you think? I appreciate your comment. There are some reverb added from the Alesis mixer. The rest is all JX-03 with the built-in chorus or delay effects.
