Wondering what is the best direction for a road trip to Napa Valley. The west direction is the best direction with scenic views and fantastic things to do in Marin and Sonoma County. We visit Cornerstone Market and gardens along the way including the iconic Sunset magazine garden. A great pet and kid friendly place to stretch your legs and perhaps shop, sip, eat, play and explore. Wine and whiskey tasting is just one of the things to do. Then we head over to Lou's Luncheonette for a quick bite of country comfort food and a beer on their outdoor patio. A very laid back local favorite that is also pet and kid friendly. After taking in the vineyards of Sonoma valley and carneros regions we arrive in Napa to see hot air balloons cresting the morning sky. But wait, what if we had gone the other direction east up highway 80. Sure it might be a little quicker but not nearly as pretty of an adventure.
