Описание: Today I was in Sankt Moritz, Switzerland, for The I.C.E. 2026 (acronym for 'The International Concours of Elegance'). This was my first time attending the event, and what an introduction it was.

The I.C.E. first launched back in 2019 as both a static and dynamic gathering of vintage, classic, and race cars on the frozen lake. After the 2020 edition was canceled just days before due to the pandemic, and nothing in 2021, the event has grown remarkably—and this sixth edition proves it's more popular than ever.

This year, organizers moved the event earlier in the season to take advantage of more premium ice quality on the frozen lake. It certainly delivered: this morning started off bitterly cold at around 4°F (-16°C), with frost hanging in the air as the first cars rolled onto the ice. But once the sun cleared the surrounding Engadin mountains and rose above the horizon for the midday runs, conditions became absolutely pristine—brilliant alpine sunshine illuminating 52 historic cars against that unmistakable St. Moritz backdrop.

The quality of machinery assembled this year was nothing short of extraordinary, spanning nearly 100 years of automotive history.
Barchettas on the Lake featured an incredible lineup of open two-seaters from the golden age of sports car racing: a 1951 Ferrari 340 MM, a 1953 Ferrari 375 MM, a gorgeous 1955 Aston Martin DB3S, a Ferrari 857 Monza, a Porsche 550, and the elegant Maserati 200 SI from 1957, among others.
Open Wheels brought historic single-seaters that once thundered around the world's greatest circuits—including a 1928 Bugatti 37A, the legendary 1934 Bugatti 59, a Maserati 250 F, a Ferrari F500/625, the 1959 Aston Martin DBR4, and both a Lotus 12 and Lotus 24.

Concept Cars & One-Offs showcased automotive art at its finest: the streamlined 1936 Bugatti Type 57 G "Tank," a 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 GS Aprile, the striking Autobianchi Runabout Bertone from 1969, and even an Audi quattro Group S homologation special from 1986.

Icons on Wheels delivered timeless elegance—a 1928 Bentley 4.5 Litre Open Tourer, the mighty Mercedes-Benz 720 SSK, a 1961 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, a Ferrari 250 California Spider SWB, the iconic Ferrari 275 GTB/4, and a 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV that looked absolutely stunning against the white ice.

Racing Legends honored competition heritage with machines like a Pegaso Z-102, the Ferrari 250 GT SWB "SEFAC," a Lola T70 Spider Zerex Special, a Shelby Cobra 427 S/C, a Ferrari 250 LM, and the remarkable Porsche 908/03 that dominated endurance racing in period.

Two new classes debuted this year—"Birth of the Hypercar" and "Legendary Liveries"—and the modern machinery didn't disappoint.

Pagani made a statement with their Utopia Coupé and Zonda F Roadster taking to the frozen lake during the morning session, while a Huayra BC Roadster and Huayra Coupé were displayed at the Salotto Pagani showcase.
The star of the contemporary field was undoubtedly the Rimac Nevera R Founder's Edition, making its worldwide public debut today in a bespoke two-tone livery of Côte d'Azur and Titanium Silver. Mate Rimac himself drove his personal Nevera on the ice, adding an electric dimension to an event traditionally dominated by combustion engines.

Also present was the golden Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Prototype—the original 1950s show car—proving that even in 2026, the classics still command the spotlight.

With perfect conditions, a stunning roster of 52+ cars spanning a century of automotive achievement, and the addition of cutting-edge hypercars alongside pre-war legends, The I.C.E. St. Moritz 2026 may well be the finest edition yet. There's simply nothing else like watching priceless machinery being driven with enthusiasm on a frozen alpine lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and brilliant winter sunshine.
