Being Black Americans, we are a people that have been taken from our Motherland. To add insult to injury, along with being forcibly taken, there were many other things taken away from us, namely our Native tongue. Since being in Nairobi, Kenya, admittedly, we have become a bit "lazy" when comes to learning the native language. Which is most likely the broadest spoken native language on the continent. Time and time again, we are told, by locals and diasporas alike that once we learn the language, our experience living here will only get better.
