FHP PITs SUV in Miami—Driver Flees on Foot!

Описание: A high-speed Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) chase brought traffic to a standstill on June 25, 2025, along the Palmetto Expressway in Miami-Dade. Troopers attempted to pull over a Toyota SUV after spotting the driver, Nelson Jose Gomez-Leon, not wearing a seatbelt. When he refused to stop, a brief pursuit followed.

FHP executed a precise PIT maneuver, causing the SUV to crash into the median barrier and strike an RV. Gomez-Leon jumped out of the wrecked vehicle, leaped the median, and fled on foot, but was tackled and arrested in the middle of the highway.

Authorities recovered ketamine, marijuana, and cocaine. Gomez-Leon now faces a long list of charges including aggravated fleeing after an accident, drug possession, resisting arrest with violence, and driving with a suspended license.
