Описание: The long-awaited Veligonda Project is nearing a crucial stage, with the government making arrangements to divert Srisailam floodwaters to the Nallamala Sagar reservoir by the end of August. Around 7,321 displaced families from 11 villages are preparing to leave their homes and native villages for the project, which is expected to provide irrigation water to nearly 5 lakh acres and drinking water to more than 15 lakh people. So far, 6,206 families have received rehabilitation packages worth Rs 768 crore, covering 84.77% of the total families, while payments to the remaining 1,115 families are expected by the end of this month.
