In a landmark feat, India’s defence production rose more than 12% year-on-year to cross 1 lakh crore mark for the first time ever. This is a significant milestone as the govt has taken measures to promote defence production in India and reduce reliance on imports. The value currently stands at Rs 1,06,800 crore and it will go further up once the data is received from the remaining private defence industries, the Ministry of Defence said.
