SOLD in Just 2 Days – 1982 Triumph Acclaim HLS Walkaround

This original, unrestored Triumph Acclaim HLS was supplied by Fine Lines Classic Cars 7 years ago and has now returned to us, only to sell again in record time — just 2 days after being listed! With only 53,000 miles from new, this Acclaim is one of the rarest survivors of its kind left on UK roads.

Finished in period-perfect ‘Cashmere Gold’ metallic with beige cloth trim, the car is a true time capsule from the 1980s. Incredibly well preserved, it retains its original paintwork, factory rust protection underneath, and even the original Triumph push-button radio. The engine bay is beautifully clean and untouched, and the 1.3L Honda-designed overhead camshaft engine runs as smoothly as ever, paired with a slick 5-speed gearbox.

During the last 7 years of ownership, the local enthusiast who purchased it from us cherished the car, driving less than 3,000 miles in total, never taking it out in the rain, and always storing it in a dry garage. The result is a car that presents today in remarkably original condition — a true survivor.

The Triumph Acclaim was the last model to carry the Triumph badge, and its Honda engineering meant excellent reliability and eager performance. While Triumph sold over 133,000 Acclaims in period, today only 43 Triumph Acclaim HLS models remain licensed on UK roads (according to ‘How Many Left’). That makes this example not only rare but one of the best preserved.

Now classed as a historic vehicle, this Acclaim benefits from free road tax and MOT exemption, though this car came with a fresh MOT until September 2026 — with no advisories.
