Most people assume the water coming out of their tap is healthy. After all, it’s regulated and considered “safe.” But when I was going through a serious health battle, I started looking much closer at everything going into my body — the food I ate, the air I breathed, and the water I drank.

What I discovered surprised me.

When I looked up the water quality report for Vancouver, Washington and Clark County, I learned something important: there’s often a difference between what is considered legally acceptable in public water systems and what independent health guidelines recommend.

In this video, I walk through exactly how I researched our local water supply and how you can do the same thing for your own home using the EWG Tap Water Database. By simply entering your ZIP code, you can see the contaminants detected in your local municipal water system and compare health-based recommendations with legal limits.

This video isn’t meant to alarm anyone or single out Clark County. Municipal water systems across the United States face similar challenges due to aging infrastructure and environmental contaminants. The goal is simply to create awareness so homeowners can make informed decisions.
