I can't quite believe it never occurred to me that it was possible to make shields in the game. I knew it was possible to make body armour and helmets, but checking into shields was something that completely escaped my attention. So my first shield will be made of oak with a bronze boss. Who knows? Perhaps it will be enough to give me a chance against a bear.
