When the Lord Jesus gave us the example of how to pray, He started out the prayer with

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Hallow is another way of saying bless, consecrate or sanctify. In other words, the Lord Jesus is starting the prayer by signifying that God's name is special, set apart holy and sacred.

We are to give God the Father the glory that is due to Him. He is above and we are below.

The ten commandments were given to Moses on Mount Sinai. They were written by the very finger of God. One of them is this

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

Would you sling around your mother's name? Would you use her name as a curse word? If not, then why do you do it to your Creator?

What this means is that every time you take the Lord's name in vain, you are disrespecting the God Who is holy and created you, but you are also adding to your sin bill, that is, the total amount of sins that you'll have to pay for in eternity.

There are other types of blasphemy, but this video is focusing on the spoken blasphemy against God that we hear every day. If you become a Christian, then the Lord Jesus will pay for your sins with his precious blood.

But you may say, "Hey, I don't believe in God! I'll do and say what I want!" What you're saying is foolishness! Imagine if you walked into a restaurant with no money and ordered lots of food.

When someone mentions to you that the manager will insist that you pay the bill, you reply that you don't know that there really is a manager, because you've never seen him and, anyway, it doesn't matter, because you haven't finished eating your food. What a ridiculous way of looking at this, but that is the way that many people treat God in this world.

The Lord has graciously allowed you to live your life for a certain period of time without the full payment for your sin debt owed to Him. However, life is fleeting and you could be dead by the end of the day. Once you're dead, then your sin payment will be suddenly due.

We all sin, but the real issue is who will pay for those sins?

If you follow the Lord Jesus and obey God's commandments with repentance and humility, then the Lord Jesus will cover your sins and allow you into Heaven.

Otherwise, you will pay for your sins in the Lake of Fire for eternity. You will not be let out and it won't get better. They'll be no second chance for you.

So, do the wise thing Follow the Lord Jesus, turn away from your sins and make Jesus the Master of your life.

He will take care of your sins, but you need to focus on Him and not the world around you.
