A public lecture by Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan was interrupted by students at Wits University last night.
The minister was invited by the University's school of Governance to talk about the reform and governance of state-owned enterprises.
But disgruntled students disrupted the minister's question and answer session by demanding that he accept some accountability for what happened during state capture.
Gordhan's speech largely dealt with what he said was an emerging force in politics and society that wanted to return the country back to corruption and a new form of state capture.
He said a new state-owned holding company to consolidate SOEs, and minimise political interference, was the battleground in the new fight.
