Описание: The OBC Yuva Adhikar Manch would take out an OBC Census March across Vidarbha from February 3 to 12. Set to start from Sewagram, the march would pass Wardha, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Gadchiroli, Yavatmal, and Chandrapur districts.
“The OBC Census Yatra has been organized to underscore the importance of conducting caste-based census. But the Maharashtra government has remained indifferent to our repeated demands,” said Yatra coordinator Umesh Korram.
The march aims to assess the social, educational, and economic status of the community. Korram said that Bihar had conducted the caste-based census and Andhra Pradesh recently launched a similar exercise on Jan 19.
Other demands include construction of 72 hostels for 21,600 students, funds for Mahajyoti institute, create separate infrastructure for OBC Bahujan Welfare Department, conduct exams to fill class 1 to 4 vacancies by MPSC, putting a stop to hire contractors, grant farmers a complete waiver of debts and more.TNN
