It's 1980, and in a hair salon in Kensington, rulebooks are being torn up and limits pushed. Car spray paint is used for that proper metallic sheen, and slogans and logos (including Nationwide's) are being cut and sprayed into hair.
Would it catch on? Well, one hip young teen, asked to react to her funky new style, simply responds, “horrified”.
