Pokémon Red version is a nostalgia goldmine for most, but what if we take this childhood classic and rough it up with a hardcore nuzlocke using ONLY fire type Pokémon? Can I beat a Pokémon Red Hardcore Nuzlocke with only fire types? Or will Misty spray her Starmie's bubbles in my face so many times I just rage quit? Who knows! It's a Pokémon Challenge to be sure!

Pokémon Challenge Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules!

1) If a Pokémon faints, it's dead, and must be permanently boxed.
2) Must nickname all Pokémon captured.
3) Only the first (type/theme specific, if applicable) Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
4) If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique (type/theme specific, if applicable) Pokémon encounter can be caught instead (aka species clause), but you can only use 1 species of any Pokémon at a time as a result (so no team of 6 Absols).
5) HM slaves are allowed for capture to progress the story, but cannot be used in battle.
6) No Items can be used in battle (but held Items ARE allowed).
7) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member's ace. As long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
8) "Set" battle mode must always be on.
