Sundance (Hunnia Records) unites jazz pianist Gábor Csordás and pandeiro player Matheus Borges in a cross-continental journey. At its heart, this is a piano trio album — yet instead of drums, the pandeiro shapes the rhythm, giving the music a unique voice between tradition and invention. From Brazilian grooves to New Orleans swing, the album blends improvisation and storytelling, featuring Bence Táborszky on trumpet and József Barcza-Horváth on bass, with guests Luca Kézdy on violin and Caspar Thorpe on guitar. For Scott pays tribute to Scott Feiner, Spring Samba builds intricate rhythmic puzzles, Salamandra echoes Matheus’ travels and ties to Brazil, while Minas Gerais blends his roots with European flair.
