Some of these things may seem pretty basic, but after 15 years of teaching visual arts (drawing and painting) I thought these tips would be helpful for those just starting out. I recommend Liquitex Basics acrylic paint for beginners. These are the same paints I buy for my students in my Drawing and Painting classes. There a lot of other great brands out there as well! Golden, Winsor & Newton and Grumbacher are some other brands I've used and also would recommend.
