Описание: Sources at Osmania University (OU) have said that there was no official denial of permission for Rahul Gandhi's visit. But, they have also said that political meetings cannot be held on the campus.

As many as 18 members of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) were arrested by the police for pelting stones after the university had allegedly denied permission to the Congress party’s request to allow Rahul Gandhi to visit the campus and interact with students.

Now, sources at the university have said that, officially, no permission was denied.

Earlier, the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) approached the university administration and sought permission to allow Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to interact with students on the campus.

They were reportedly informed about the decision taken by the university executive council, which denies permission for any political meetings on the campus.

It was verbally communicated to the Congress delegation, after which, a petition was filed in the High Court against the university’s decision. Sources at Osmanaia University have said that, "Officially, no permission was denied."
