The National Railroad Museum at Green Bay Wisconsin holds an interesting collection of largely American locos and stock but the highlight for me is A4 Pacific 60009 Dwight D Eisenhower and the two Gresley coaches which formed Command cars in each of his two personal trains used in the UK with one going to France after D Day.

The Gresley coaches were both sleeping cars. One is displayed with armour plating and laid out in its Command Car configuration. The other is as received at Green Bay after its post-war use as a sleeping car again.

There are other impressive locos including a Big Boy and a Pennsylvania RR GG-1 electric.

If you get to that part of Wisconsin its worth a couple of hours or more to look around.
