#GuruRamDas Ji, born Jetha in 1534 Lahore, was orphaned young but dedicated himself to service. He became a devoted disciple and son-in-law of Guru Amar Das Ji.
Jetha impressed Emperor Akbar, who offered land for the "Guru Ka Chak" (later Amritsar).
He was tested and chosen as the fourth #SikhGuru, becoming Guru Ram Das Ji.
He established #Amritsar, promoted Langar, and composed numerous hymns now in the #GuruGranthSahib.
