EAA Airventure Midair Collision NTSB Prelim Report

On July 29th, just after noon at EAA Airventure Ul;tralight Field, a gyroplane executed a 360 turn while on the base leg to the field, turning into a helicopter behind the gyro. The midair collision resulted in both aircraft destroyed and the two occupants of the gyro injured. But helicopter pilot Mark Peterson and his passenger Tom Volz were killed. The NTSB has issued it's prelim report.
