These experiments are to show that by the process of Photosynthesis in presence of light an aquatic plant or leaf-discs can produce (Oxygen) gas.
Very simple to setup as explained in this video.
To make it better, you can even mix few gram of Baking Soda (NaHCO3) in water so that CO2 is Evolved and this can make Photosynthesis faster.
