Funded by zealotry and greed, the Circle forged a legion of fanatics numbering in the millions. Their faith was their armor, their devotion their ammunition.

They descended upon the colonies like a holy plague, carrying rifles, explosives, and scripture in equal measure. Each soldier bore the Mark — symbols of the Black Gospel painted across armor and flesh — proof that their loyalty belonged not to survival, but to Convergence. To die in Danik’s name was to be reborn in the Marker’s light.

But on Tau Volantis, that faith was tested. The zealots met not salvation, but annihilation. Between Isaac Clarke’s relentless defiance and the Necromorphs’ endless hunger, their crusade dissolved in blood and fire. Their prophet’s death shattered the illusion of divine destiny, yet even in ruin, some refused to abandon their faith — turning instead to worship the Brethren Moons themselves.

What began as a holy war ended as a massacre.
