NOTES: It has recently come to my attention by another person that you can activate this Mode "Manually On/Off" so I decided and felt it be fun for preservation sake to show off a little bit of gameplay of every ones favorite DRM mode that spawned many rumors and theories and ultimate banning of the game from SAGE among other.
So let's get some quick facts straight here, this simply a "Game Mode" Imagine like you picked a mode called "No Ring Mode" so game spawns no Rings for Sonic, this is more or less that but with spooky ghosts ready to ruin your day, it is not harmful nor does it do anything bad in particular it was just the developers amusing method to stop & punish cheaters or other.
Games have done this in the past as well for say "Spyro 3 PS1" you could play pirated but the game did all sorts of funny business to ruin your gameplay progression, this is kinda like that.
This mode only existed in specific versions of the game so you cannot find it in say in the 1.1 Version series.
Now with that all out of the way, Ghost Mode 1 here is basically fully playable to the end but the level floor tiles are all black and pesky Red Ghosts are there to hinder your progress but you can kill em.
Now Ghost Mode 2 basically means you cannot use any debug commands nor Pause the game or go back to the Main Menu, majority of the levels and content is unplayable as the Ghosts act like invincible enemies, not even God Mode saves you from em, as they ultimately end your life and then all you can do is Quit the game and restart, it is basically the impossible mode.
