Amid the LPG gas shortage, the Rajasthan government under Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has taken serious steps to ensure that the poor continue to receive regular meals under the Annapurna Rasoi Yojana. LSG Secretary Ravi Jain has written to all District Collectors instructing them to ensure the availability of cooking gas cylinders and proper functioning of the Annapurna kitchens. There are 1,071 Annapurna kitchens across the state, providing meals to the needy at just ₹8 per meal. It is estimated that these kitchens require over 10,000 LPG cylinders per month to operate efficiently. District officials, including the district logistics officers, have been directed to oversee proper supply and prevent any disruption in services for the poor.
