I’m so tired of the California hate. Every time I go online, someone’s bashing the Golden State like it’s the end of the world. “It’s too expensive.” “Everyone’s fake.” “The traffic is horrible.” Yeah, okay, we’ve all heard it before. But here’s the truth: California is still one of the most beautiful, exciting, and iconic places on the planet.
This video is my love letter to California. From the palm trees of Los Angeles to the cliffs of Big Sur, from San Diego’s chill beaches to the redwoods in the north, this state has everything. If you’ve ever dreamed about a West Coast road trip or thought about visiting California, trust me, this is your sign.
Let’s start with the obvious. Everyone secretly loves California. They might complain online, but the second they land at LAX or step out into the San Diego sunshine, they fall in love. There’s something about that warm air, that golden light, and those palm trees flying by your car window that just feels right.
California isn’t one single vibe; it’s hundreds packed into one place. You’ve got Los Angeles for nonstop energy and creativity, San Diego for the laid-back beach life, San Francisco for history and architecture, Yosemite for jaw-dropping nature, and Palm Springs for retro poolside calm. You can surf in Malibu, snowboard in Lake Tahoe, hike in Joshua Tree, and eat world-class food in the same week. That’s why California will always be the ultimate travel destination.
California has a mood that’s impossible to fake. It’s that golden-hour glow when the sky turns pink and orange. It’s the random taco stand that ends up being the best meal of your life. It’s meeting strangers who tell you they moved here chasing a dream. The California lifestyle isn’t about money or fame—it’s about freedom, creativity, and adventure.
If you’ve never done a California road trip, you need to. Start in San Diego, grab a smoothie or fish tacos, and spend the morning surfing at Pacific Beach or watching sea lions at La Jolla Cove. Then drive up the Pacific Coast Highway, one of the most beautiful drives in the world. Stop in Laguna Beach or Huntington for small-town coastal charm. Spend a couple of days in Los Angeles exploring places like Silver Lake, Venice, Santa Monica, and Malibu.
After LA, drive up to Santa Barbara for wine, ocean air, and perfect weather. Then keep heading north to Big Sur, where the cliffs and ocean views will actually blow your mind. Stop at McWay Falls and Bixby Bridge, then finish your trip in San Francisco, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge with the fog rolling in. If you still have time, head east to Yosemite or Lake Tahoe for some of the best hiking and views in the country. That one trip alone will make you understand why people love California.
San Diego deserves its own section because it’s probably the most chill city in the U.S. It’s where life just feels easy. You wake up, grab coffee or açaí, and go to the beach. Ocean Beach, Coronado, Sunset Cliffs, Mission Bay—each spot has its own vibe. People are friendly, the food is amazing, and the sunsets are unbeatable. It’s the kind of place that makes you wonder why anyone lives anywhere else.
Then there’s Los Angeles, the most misunderstood city in America. People love to hate it, but LA is one of the most creative places on Earth. Sure, Hollywood can be weird, but the real LA is made up of communities full of art, culture, and flavor. You’ve got Koreatown, Echo Park, Downtown LA, Venice, and Highland Park—all with their own personality. You can go from a hike at Griffith Park to tacos in Boyle Heights to a concert downtown in one day. That mix of chaos and beauty is what makes LA special.
And when it comes to Northern California, the mood shifts. It’s quieter, greener, more introspective. Drive through Big Sur and it feels unreal—the cliffs, the fog, the ocean stretching out forever. San Francisco is full of character, from the old cable cars to the steep hills and colorful Victorian homes. Head inland to Yosemite, and it’s like stepping into another world. You realize why people write songs and poems about this place.
California isn’t perfect. It’s expensive, crowded, and sometimes overwhelming. But that’s also what makes it real. It’s not some fantasy—it’s a living, breathing place filled with people chasing their dreams, failing, trying again, and creating things that change the world. From Silicon Valley startups to LA filmmakers to small-town artists, the creative energy here is unreal.
And if you want the hidden gems, I’ve got a few for you. Solvang feels like a little European village with Danish bakeries and windmills. Ojai is pure peace and sunsets. Morro Bay has sea otters just hanging out by the docks. Joshua Tree is perfect for stargazing and self-reflection. Mammoth Lakes gives you mountain views that look straight out of a movie. Every corner of California has its own magic if you take the time to look.
THIS IS NOT GLAZE
