The Election Commission of India has officially announced the polling dates for the Legislative Assembly elections in five key regions — Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. During a press briefing, the Chief Election Commissioner highlighted that the commission reviewed election preparedness in all poll-bound states and consulted political parties, administrative officials, and security agencies. Nearly 774 million voters are expected to participate in this massive democratic exercise. The commission assured that the elections will be conducted in a free, fair, transparent, and peaceful manner.
