Описание: A lingering and immersive look at a typical working day of the once-popular and iconic chain-driven ferry that once linked the short distance across The Clyde between Yoker And Renfrew, via my own extended 8mm movie footage from Summer 1981. Later in the film, watch for an even more famous vessel gate-crashing the location. Also at the end, there's another, newer ferry operating the crossing while the older one was temporarily out of service. These ferries, which originally operated the Erskine crossing before being replaced by the busy bridge, eventually terminated service in 1985, and permanently replaced by tiny pedestrian-only boats to this day. The newer ferry, today, remains permanently berthed at The Broomielaw, having been restored as a concert and night-club venue.
