This documentary explains how submarines work. There are many physics principles involved that help the Submarines to dive upto 800 feet in the sea. Submarines have internal and external ballast tanks which are filled with air when it is above the water and when the submarine has to dive in, it is filled with water. Diving planes help the submarine to go up and down while the vertical rudders help in navigating left or right. When the submarine has to come above the sea, water in ballast tanks is flushed out with pressurized air that makes the submarine light in weight.
