VV-PACS Community Correspondent Mister Alam from Nalanda district of Bihar reports on the lack of school teachers in Chakjohara Primary school. There is only 1 teacher since 2007 who was also put on BLO duty during the Lok Sabha elections due to which the school was shut for 3 days.
In spite of submitting applications to the Block Officer, still no teacher has been appointed till now. "If children are taught well in the school then why would they attend additional tuitions?" says Indradev Giri, father of a student.
Education leads to the road to betterment of a community and the nation at large. So how can we expect the future of this nation to accomplish anything under such circumstances?
What we need today is the right reformation along with proper implementation of the already existing RTE Act that will bring about a positive change towards the development of rural education in India.
As a result of this video, in August 2014, 2 new teachers have been appointed at Chakjohara Village Primary school by the Head office in Juniyar. Keep watching this space for the impact video.
About the Partnership: The Poorest Areas Civil Society (PACS) Programme and Video Volunteers have come together to create the Community Correspondents Network. The videos generated by the network will be able to highlight voices from the margins, providing skills to social communicators to provide advocacy tools to community based organisations.
