Trump Warns Iran Over Oil Supply As US Waives Some Sanctions

Описание: U.S. President Donald Trump has said the United States will take strong action to ensure that global oil supplies remain secure during the ongoing conflict with Iran. Speaking during a press conference, Trump warned that any attempt by Iran to disrupt global energy routes would trigger a much stronger response from the United States.

Trump said the ongoing military campaign, referred to as Operation Epic Fury, is aimed not only at weakening Iran’s military capabilities but also at protecting the global energy supply. He emphasised that the United States will not allow what he described as a “terrorist regime” to hold the world hostage by threatening oil shipments.

As part of efforts to stabilise energy markets, Trump also announced that Washington is temporarily waiving certain oil-related sanctions on some countries. According to the president, the move is intended to keep oil flowing to global markets and help reduce rising energy prices.

Trump acknowledged that oil prices initially rose following the start of military operations but argued that the increase has been lower than expected. He suggested that the success and speed of the campaign have helped limit market disruptions.

The president also said that if necessary, the U.S. Navy and its international partners could escort oil tankers through strategic shipping routes such as the Strait of Hormuz to ensure safe passage.

The remarks highlight the growing intersection of military strategy and global energy security as tensions in the Middle East continue to impact oil markets.
