This video follows a calm driving route through Papago Park, Tempe, and the Arizona State University campus, offering a relaxed look at one of the most distinctive urban landscapes in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Papago Park is known for its desert terrain, red sandstone formations, and open space set against the backdrop of a growing metropolitan region. The park holds many of Phoenix's most notable tourist attractions including the Desert Botanical Garden, the Phoenix Zoo, the Hole-in-the-Rock formation and Hunt's Tomb.
From there, the drive continues into Tempe, where residential neighbourhoods, office parks, commercial areas, and major transportation corridors reflect the city’s role as a university hub within the Valley.
The route passes through and around Arizona State University, one of the largest public university campuses in the United States, where academic buildings, student housing, and urban infrastructure blend into the surrounding city. We will drive right by Mountain America Stadium home of the ASU Sun devils college football team and Desert Garden arena which was once the temporary home of the now defunct Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League
The video is presented with a short introductory timelapse and then as an uninterrupted drive with ambient sound. Subtitles appear throughout to provide quiet geographic and contextual notes about the landscape, road network, and urban form visible along the route.
