Centennial Coal's push/pull CEY set just left Lidsdale Siding and has advanced to Wallerawang platform in the distance to await a crossing with Pacific National's three TT class coming from Airly with a loaded coal train to the NSW central coast.
The CEY's will have to wait as the TT's are running nearly 30 minutes late off the Mudgee/Gwabegar branch line. Huge winds gusting 90KMh make filming without wind noise difficult but thankfully the nearby fence has given some respite. The roof of CEY004, at the rear of the train, can just be seen in the distance.
Sadly, the popular take away store opposite the station closed down in February, it was very popular with train crews who had waiting time to spend at the station. A video of the triple TT's passing this train is also posted on this site. Airly Colliery is the only active colliery on the Mudgee/Gwabegar line with the others either closed down or in caretaker mode.
