Описание: From the same streets of Compton that N.W.A made famous in hip-hop emerged a multitalented artist ready to also make his mark. David Marvin Blake, better known as DJ Quik, was a homeless, hungry DJ and producer with a substantial measure of local fame when Profile Records signed him to a daring six-figure deal. The first full-length output from this deal was QUIK IS THE NAME in 1991. Sandwiched by the twin towers of Ruthless Records and Death Row Records, and surrounded by the growth of gangsta rap in California in the early ‘90s, Quik nevertheless shone through with an album that dared to defy beat making convention, as well as positioned him as a future member of the pantheon of producer-rappers.
