In this hiking trail located in Asturias (north of Spain) we climg the Gamonal peak. With 1710 m. is the highest mountain in the asturian municipality of Morcin. The trail we follow to reach the summit starts in the parking of Bobies. This is a linear route which covers a distance of 5.1 km (one way) and has an elevation gain opf 1040 m. The trail is very beautiful and it reminded me at some points of the Picos de Europa since some segments have a similar landscape.
Some of the things to consider when planning this trail:
There are portions of this trail where it is easy to get lost because the landscape is similar in all directions
Hiking this trail requires a minimum of fitness since there is high elevation gain to cover in just 5.1 km
There is a much easier variation of this hike starting in the Angliru parking and reaches Gamonal after walking 30 minutes
