6.37 Square-1 Hong Kong Record Average [NR, AsR6, WR25]

This sentence pretty much sums up my feelings for this average. Going into this comp, NR was 6.40 by LYY, and my goal is to simply beat or get somewhere close to my PR (which is 7.80), and since my global is nowhere near 6.40, I didn’t really expect to get NR.

But maybe this is what helped me. My hands aren’t very shaky, and I was just solving as if I was at home, and along with some easy PBLs and luck, I was able to get a 5.59 single (PR by 0.01) and lock a sub 7 WPA after solve 4.
Before doing solve 5, the idea of NR came into my mind, yet I wasn’t expecting it. But the moment I saw SP+ (the first ever 5 slicer PBL I have ever learned) being my PBL for the last solve, it felt like everything was in perfect line for me.

And somehow I clutched a 6.07 when I needed it the most, helping me to get this result.

I never thought I’d peak again after my 6.29 single (WR27) in 2019, but here I am.

Thank you LYY and Dorian for motivating me and being my inspiration as a HongKonger maining Square-1, as well as thank you to all my friends and the people who have joined alongside me on this incredible journey.

I highly doubt if I will even beat this again in the future, but I’m excited to see what the future holds :)
