The resulting magical backlash violently consumes his core, leaving him the magic-less Squib we know today. Abandoned by his family and viewed as a traitor by Hagrid, Filch endures decades of isolation until he finds a kindred spirit in a defenseless, declawed kitten named Mrs. Norris.
