I was just walking.
I had just bought some art supplies in Deira and started heading back when this mosque suddenly caught my eye.
I had passed by this area many times before, but I had never really noticed it. Two minarets standing side by side, simple and elegant, quietly rising in the middle of a very active part of Dubai.
What struck me was the contrast.
Cars, noise, people walking fast, minds elsewhere… and this calm presence in the middle of it all. When I stopped to look, sketchbook in hand, something interesting happened: people started looking too. Following my gaze. Slowing down for a second.
That’s what I love about drawing on location.
It creates a small pause in the flow of the city.
This is also the first video where I integrated music.
