Bought at Goodwill auction, this Terada TG-310 is a high-quality vintage classical guitar manufactured by Terada Musical Instrument Co., Ltd. in Nagoya, Japan. Best guess is it is from 1978. Terada also made high-end instruments for Ibanez, Gretsch, and Orville by Gibson.
Nagoya was the heart of Japan’s "Golden Era" of luthiery. Instruments from this region are prized for their structural stability and use of aged tonewoods. Guitars from this factory are known for being "overbuilt" in a good way—they are remarkably resilient to humidity changes.
Because of its pristine condition, it’s hard to believe that it is almost 50 years old!
