Takoyaki is an octopus filled dough ball, which is one of the most popular street food of Japan. I was fortunate enough to have it a couple of times during my exchange to Japan. Paneeryaki is a recipe inspired from the likes of Takoyaki. Octopus has a texture and taste similar to that of Paneer, so I used paneer instead of octupus ,thereby making it vegetarian friendly. I tried to re-create this amazing recipe of Japanese streets with Indian ingredients at home. It is a perfect confluence of Indo-Japanese cuisine. Ingredients:
Rice-6cups
Urad Dal ( skinless black gram) - 2 cups
Salt- as per taste
Seasoned Paneer (cottage cheese) cubes-100g (paneer coated with spice powders)
Refined Vegetable Oil- 100ml
