Описание: Thermopile A thermopile or a thermal telescope is an instrument designed to measure the force of radiant energy. It consists of a thermoelectric pile and a voltage indicator. The device was invented in 1929 by the Italian physicist Leopoldo Nobili. The structure also involved two other devices enhanced by Nobili. One of them is a thermoelectric pile that consisted of 30 copper and constantan wire joints connected in series and in parallel. And the other - an astatic galvanometer- a device used to measure voltage with Earth's magnetic field compensation. To enable selective reception of thermal radiation from a certain source of heat produced in a certain direction, the thermopile is supplied with a brass horn antenna. The thermoelectric pile is located at the narrower side of this antenna. The thermal current force can be regulated with the help of a shutter valve located on the horn that allows changing the areas of the horn's inlet. A box-shaped cooling collector with an adjustment door is used to cool the opposite side of the thermocouple elements. For the most part of the 19th century, due to its high sensitivity and measurement speed, the thermopile remained an indispensable tool in studying thermal radiation.
