The permanent secretary ministry of information communication technology and National guidance Dr. Aminah Zawedde has told the public accounts committee that the decision to switch off internet was taken by police and the interagency security committee.
She was appearing before the public accounts committee with Officials from the ministry of ICT to answer queries in the Auditor General’s report on internet shut down during the 2026 general elections which according to members of parliament led to infringement on people’s rights,
